“Deacon King Kong” by James McBride

I don’t know how I feel about this one. Everything about it was over-the-top in a way that doesn’t really resonate with me. I almost gave up before I was a third of the way through. I guess I enjoyed the second half more, so better that I stuck with it, but … what’s it about, really? I dunno.
