“Pachinko” by Min Jin Lee

I found Pachinko totally engrossing and wonderful — it made me miss a subway stop for the first time in ages. The third part accellerates relative to the first two (covering something like 35 years in the same space that they covered 25) and I’m not sure that was an improvement, but really I would go back to the beginning and read it again any time. (Also Noa’s problematic college girlfriend reminded me a little of the problematic girlfriend in The Namesake, maybe I’ll reread that one of these days.)
